Meet the NGO

Reproduction and reproductive health are important factors for a healthy population of the country as any sort of unawareness can lead to various diseases associated with it. Just as reproduction is an aspect with much social meaning, the diseases associated with it also have social repercussions along with the biological.

Services to AIDS Victims and Empowerment Foundation (SAVE) established in 2003 thereby concerns itself with HIV-AIDS as the priority of the organization. Working in Sangli district of Maharashtra, they focus on offering awareness to the society and help those who are suffering from this disease.

Their major initiatives include conducting awareness programmes on STD, HIV-AIDS etc. They work in providing homoeopathic treatment as well as confidential testing and counselling services to the people who suffer from HIV-AIDS.

They have further engaged with a life skill education programme by UNICEF called SPARSH – Jeene Ki Kala. Beyond this, they have worked for reproductive and child health programmes initiated by the Government of India as well as provided awareness on sustainable livelihood mechanisms for PLHIV.

They envision a future where the people are empowered and live better lives due to proper implementation of sustainable development programmes. As such they aim to reach out to the communities to further expose them to awareness and begin the transformation to a healthy living environment. Engaged in video documentation through the PLHIV under UNDP, they have also contributed their part to INP+ as well as the World Bank and UNDP, New Delhi.
