Meet the NGO

Art is a reflection and soul of a society. The team at Actors Theatre@Rajasthan is professionally working on the development and promotion of theatre through educational concepts and organising theatre workshops where they teach Natya Shastra to children and adults. They include lessons and tips to improve body language, expressions and stage presence. They organise theatre festivals, play productions on various social issues and also street plays.

Between 10th to 15th May 2013, they organised the First Rajasthan Rang Mahotsav (Raj Rangam) at Ravindra Manch, Jaipur for a duration of 6 days. This festival was based on 2 Research Works which were awarded in the year 2013. From 2010 to 2020 they have organised around 50 acting oriented theatre workshops of different durations of 20, 30, 40, 60 and 90 days for beginners and trained students of theatre at St. Anselm’s Pink City School, Ravindra Manch and various other areas of Jaipur City. These workshops were sanctioned by National Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and the Ministry of Culture.

In these workshops the NGO produced and performed full-length productions on subjects like the Girl Child titled, ‘Hansti Kokh Ke Aansoo’, a Traffic Education Play called ‘Zarasi Galti’, ‘Hum Natak Kyon Karte Hai’, The Great Raja Master Drama Company, Agnipath etc.

Actors Theatre performed 8 short plays in the Short Plays Festival held at the Open Air Theatre, Drama Department University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in March 2010. The team also produced a short film called ‘Corona ko Rokona’ based on the Covid-19 pandemic.

With Theatre Workshops, Play Productions, Researches and Theatre Festivals, the NGO continues to regularly encourage and inspire actors to pursue their passion and are committed to creating a professional academic environment in Rajasthan’s modern theatre.
